#STRETCHYARTDAY

The "#StretchyArtDay" Twitter hashtag event started August 28th of 2021, its purpose is mostly to spread around the art the community makes, and also to let others discover it by searching the tag.

Originally I used the phrase "Stretchy Saturday" as a joke for my consistent upload of elastic art every saturday, after some time I thought it'd be cool to have a proper tag for more people to look for this kind of content, so I planned this event.

I realized #StretchySaturday was already a tag that normal people used, so I decided to choose something different. A little change from "saturday" to "artday" was what I ended up going for, and so it became what it is currently.

I also planned a japanese hashtag, unfortunately it didn't get much use so now it's abandoned, I explained it better on some older tweets; ''I was wondering how you'd translate "Stretchy Saturday" into japanese, apparently 粘土化 is one of the most used tags for elastic-malleable art on pixiv, it roughly translates to clay-ification. A friend said it's the most similar to "stretchy art" they found.''

''It seems like 弾性化 (Elastic-fication) and 軟体化 (Body Softening) are less common tags but also fit the bill. 弾性 is just Elastic so I think using that raw could be confused with other stuff. Also rubber is out of the question since that also means that other thing lol''

''「粘土曜日」is basically a pun on Clay and Saturday which I liked, there was also the idea of「粘土化曜日」which is the clay-like tag with day, these were a friend's first suggestions so I'm not so sure if they properly convey what I want, but I wanted to share anyway.''

Shoutouts to my friend for the help researching and translating those terms, even if it didn't end up being used for this I think it's good to know and could come in handy later on.
